DIN472 internal circlip is a type of retaining ring for holding structural components, e.g. rolling bearings on a bore. Its given an eccentric shape, fitted with spring retention in grooves and suitable for the transmission of axial forces. DIN472 standard circlip contains the normal type and heavy type.
The general material used for external circlips are C75 or CK75 spring steels, 65Mn steels and stainless steels. Its normally supplied corrosion-proof treated like phosphatized or oiled.
