DIN6799 retaining washer, or E-Rring is a kind of spring steel or other high preformance steel, stainless steel made mechinery components. used on a shaft with an eccentric shape, fitted with spring retention in grooves and suitable for the transmission of axial forces.
The normal types retaining washers are made of C75 or CK75 spring steels, 65Mn steels and stainless steels. Its normally supplied withouth burrs, no sharp edges and with corrosion-proof treatment, like phosphate, oil, zinc galvanizing and dacromet or ruspert coating, esp for auto or other machinery parts.
